How can we easily organize and access different music datas?
Will the user get lost with all these datas?
Can we "arrange" digital files such as MP3s in the the same way as we arrange CDs or vinyl records?
My objective was to create an object with a simple and intuitive interface that will allow the user to find, identify and listen to all these musical datas.
Then I propose an hybrid and communicative object, containing all the different types of musical datas, that will facilitate the oganisation, and storage as well as the accessibility of the user's musical library.
Object
The domestic device that I propose is a Hi-Fi system for music datas. It's composed by a system of 3 Tactile screens: one for the traditional fonctions (such as play, pause,...) and the two others for the identification and the localisation of datas.
These screens have buttons on their top and bottom, in order to control the volumor explore the musical files.
All these files are registered on an aluminium support, which is
composed by a system of flash memory coupled to an e-paper, that permit to display different kind of informations about the content of the card. Thanks to magnets, the cards can be connected together and to the control screens.
Usage
By the touch, the user can find and listen to his music datas. As the cards are connected with magnets, he can compose his musical library on the wall. Moreover, he can connect his cards to a mobile player, or a Hi-Fi car system...
