Each material workshop is run by a specialist in the field concerned and offers applied learning with the tools and equipment required for experimenting with various materials. These workshops lead to accreditations which enable students to attain a certain autonomy when working on their own models and prototypes, within the workshop and authorises them access outside teaching hours.

This centre provides documentation, advice and activities around materials. Documents can be consulted and samples are available, as is a data bank, magazines and publications on materials-processes-products and presentation of products by manufacturers. Visits to factories, specialist exhibitions and conferences are also organised. The centre also provides technical advice for project work. Specialists can be consulted on a weekly basis.
