General class:
These classes are organized into approximately 200 hours of seminars. They question philosophical standpoints on society, technology and modernity. Controversial debate provides students with insight into scientific progress in society. The seminars include theoretical classes, practical classes and lectures.
Seminar 1: The Emergence of New Technologies in Contemporary Artistic Creation.
This seminar aims to deal with issues raised by innovative and emerging technologies in the context of today’s production beyond modernity to the extremes of contemporary practice. Classes in design, architecture, graphicsand contemporary art provide a broad overview of production over the last 20 years anaim to identify the conceptual, aesthetic and technical issues at stake in today’s emerging technologies. Cross-disciplinary conferences: creative practioners working in different fields (architecture, design, graphic design, fashion design, art) are invited to discuss a seminar topic based on their own experience.
Seminar 2: Industrial Society and Emerging Technologies.
The aim of this seminar is to present a comprehensive overview of current innovative and emerging technologies. This seminar will highlight the social, economic and ecological issues that technological proliferation in society raise by questioning he notion of a post-industrial society, and the third industrial revolution. This overview includes: new design and manufacturing processes, information and communication technologies, new materials, bio and nanotechnologies. This includes an outline of the third industrial revolution and its challenges, a panorama of emerging technologies: stereolithography, 3D printing, digital printing, LCD, LED, smart materials, interactive objects.
Cross-disciplinary conference: creative practitioners working in different fields (architecture, product design, graphics, fashion design, fine art) are invited to discuss a seminar topic based on their own experience.
Seminar 3: Managing an Innovative Artistic Project.
This seminar deals with industrial artistic production from the angle of project development and management: technical requirements, planning, budget... These classes will be accompanied by technical training where technology is approached as both a design and a manufacturing tool.
