Ritualizing the food shopping experience

Diploma project in industrial design of Diane Arnold

Looking at, smelling, choosing and buying food are all parts of a sensory experience. In contrast to online shopping, “Superbe-marché” sees the retail environment as a physical exhibition space for valuable food products. The display, the weighing scales, the shopping bag and the checkout receipt are transformed to get rid of their antiseptic characters, give us pleasure and a new perspective on our culinary habits.
