APPLICATION GUIDELINE CI & DT
EXCHANGE PROGRAMME - INDUSTRIAL DESIGN OR TEXTILE DESIGN
ENSCI-Les Ateliers/Textile Design department offers a specific training in industrial textile design.
Students learn to consider textiles for their appearance, performances and end use, and develop a creative and prospective approach that takes into account the evolution in technology and social behaviour.
We offer an exchange programme each semester. Application deadlines are:
- May 1st for the first semester
- November 1st for the second semester.
We don't offer exchange for the full year.
Tuition is paid at the home school, therefore no fees are to be paid.
Selection, integration and tutoring are the responsibility of the Textile design department.

You must apply as a student from one of our partner schools or universities and follow the exchange procedure at your home institution.
Then to apply please, send us the following documents by email:international(at)ensci.com before the deadline:
- Nomination email or letter from your institution confirming that you have been selected to apply to our exchange programme
- Portfolio
- Letter of motivation
- CV / resume
- Transcript of records of the last two years
- French level or examination score (if applicable)
- English level or examination score (if applicable)
- Copy of Passport
- ID Photograph
- Year and country of your High School Degree
Please send a motivation letter (not a formal letter but some personal writing about who you are, why you want to come to ENSCI-Les Ateliers/Textile Design, what is your particular interest in textile design…). Your portfolio will show us some examples of your academic work and personal work. A video interview will also be held to check your motivations and your language skills.
You obviously need to be very motivated, and to be willing to work and communicate in French as almost everything at ENSCI-Les Ateliers happens in French. For a meaningful exchange period it is essential to arrive with a basic working knowledge of the language.
Contact your local Alliance Française or French Embassy if you need help with language lessons before departure, and for information about bursaries and visas.

In all cases you will have to pay for Third Party insurance cover (public liability). Such insurance is to be taken through the companies that offer specific insurances to students
If you are under 28 and if your home institution is not in the EU: you will have to subscribe to the French Social Security (National Health System). This contribution is mandatory even if you already have medical insurance.
